The registrar's office handles vital statistics. These services include:
The marriage license needs to be applied for in the town in which the bride resides. The bride should bring her identification showing proof of residency. There are specific requirements if the bride or groom were previously married. It is also recommended to set up an appointment at the Mayor's Office to ensure that the registrar is available. A Vital Record certified copy can be obtained from the city/town where the birth, marriage or death took place. If your event took place in Barrington a certified copy of a Vital Statistics record may be requested through the Mayor's Office. Proof of identity must be provided. As long as your event occurred in New Jersey, records are also available from the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, Vital Statistics, by calling 609-292-4087. Information is provided on the State of NJ web site www.state.nj.us/health . To reach the registrar's office for additional information or to schedule an appointment, please call 856-547-8585. |
