You can contact the Tax Collector's office at 856-547-0706. The staff is available to provide information about current tax liability along with details on delinquent taxes.

Where can I get assessment information about my home?

The Tax Office can provide assessment information during regular business hours at 856-547-0706. The Borough Assessor, Stephen Kessler, is available on Wednesdays from 7:00pm to 8:00pm at 856-547-0706.

How can I get a document notarized?

A Notary is available, free of charge to Barrington residents, at the Mayor's office. All persons signing the document must come in person and sign the document in the presence of the notary. Identification is required. It is recommended that you call the Mayor's Office at 856-547-8585 prior to coming to the Municipal Building to ensure that the notary is available.

Do I need a permit for a yard sale?

A permit can be issued at the Borough Clerk's Office in the Municipal Building. The cost of the permit is $5.00 and you are required to remove all signs within 24 hours of the yard sales.

Where can I apply for a marriage license and what do I need?

The marriage license needs to be applied for in the town in which the bride resides. The bride should bring her identification showing proof of residency. There are specific requirements if the bride or groom were previously married. Contact the Mayor's Office at 856-547-8585 for additional information. It is also recommended to set up an appointment at the Mayor's Office to ensure that the registrar is available.

Where can I get a copy of a birth, death or marriage record?

A certified copy may be obtained from the city/town where the birth, marriage or death took place. If your event took place in Barrington a certified copy of a Vital Statistics record may be requested through the Mayor's Office at 856-547-8585. Proof of identity must be provided.

Do I need a permit for a shed, deck, pool or addition to my house?

To verify if you need a permit, contact George Jones, Zoning Officer at 856-547-4040. Zoning Applications, building permits and permit folders are available at the Municipal Building. Please note that you need to include a survey and two (2) sets of drawings with your application.

How do I apply for a building, plumbing and/or electrical permit?

All permit applications can be obtained at the Borough Clerk's office. Return completed applications and Permit Folder for approval. Once the permit is reviewed, you or your contractor will be contacted to pick up your authorized permit. Questions can be directed to the Construction Department at 856-547-0706, ext 19.

Recycling buckets can be obtained at the Municipal Building located at 229 Trenton Avenue. There is an $8.00 fee for replacement buckets. New residents can obtain (1) free commingle and (1) free vegetative waste bucket, any additional buckets are extra.
