The Building Construction Official is available at the Municipal Building Monday
through Thursday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm except on Thursday until 12:30 pm. There
are evening hours on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Inspections are routinely
scheduled after 10:00am.

The Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Sub-code Officials are available for
inspections and plan reviews on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Inspections need to be scheduled at least a day in advance. Please call the Construction
Department by 3:00pm the day before to scheduled an inspection. There are no inspections
on Fridays.

The Construction office reviews construction plans, issues permits and inspects ongoing
construction. All buildings are required to meet New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

All new construction must receive a Certificate of Occupancy (C.O.) from this
department before the building can be occupied.

Zoning applications are available at the Municipal Building. The application needs to
be completed with a copy of your plot plan/survey along with a $25.00 application fee.

Zoning authorization is required for:

• Erect a fence on your property
• Construct a swimming pool
• To build an addition to your home
• To add a deck to your home
• Build or rebuild your front porch
• Erect a shed in your rear yard
• Build a garage
• Erect signs in a commercial zoning District (includes color drawings)
• Construct patios
• Operate a business in your home

If your project is not listed, please contact the Zoning Administrator to determine if
you need to submit a Zoning Application.
